Community Supported Agriculture

We've decided this year to invest in a family share of a local CSA, Horse and Buggy Produce. This is our attempt at eating healthy this spring, summer, and fall. (stop laughing) Our first week, we received two heads of butter lettuce, a grocery bag full of curly spinach, a bag full of kale, one bunch of cilantro, and a quart jar of fresh apple butter. I'm learning to cook many new things (ie. kale), but unfortunately for the kids, if it looks like spinach then it must be YUCK! We'll work on that!
Here is our second week of freshness: a new H&BP tote, a jar of local honey, a bag of red kale, a bag of curly spinach (hello quiche!), a bunch of watercress (huh?), and three heads of butter lettuce (my favorite). The farmers assure us that by summer our delivery sizes will grow considerably and we'll have so many tomatoes we won't know what to do with them. Don't they know me? I eat them like apples!  There can never be enough!  They say we've had a pretty cool spring so it's off to a slow start. We're very happy with what we've received so far!
