Joy of Love, Day 12: Eyes

{The eyes are the window to the soul}

Tomorrow's assignment is to take a photo that focus's on your loved one's eyes. I captured this shot of Bella this evening, before she and Andy left for the Daddy-Daughter Valentine Dance. I'm not sure I can top this one tomorrow...but I'll try!

Joy of Love, Day 07: Generations

This assignment was a toughie. We don't have any nearby family, so getting multiple generations together is a challenge on short notice. I decided to "borrow" an idea I've seen used by many photographers. This isn't my best effort - no catchlights in the eyes for starters - but when I downloaded my pics and realized this, I couldn't very well get my subject out of bed for some more shots! It was fun to edit though. :)

Joy of Love, Day 06: who THEY love

This is Bella's beloved Bun Bun. Bun Bun has been her love for 6 years. Andy bought her when we lived in Gettysburg and used to take Bella for walks on what we called "The Bunny Trail". We would walk through the battlefield beside our house in the evenings and find families of bunnies there to feed our carrots. Bella received Bun Bun from her Daddy that year for Christmas and has slept with her ever since.

Joy of Love, Day 05: Love to Hate

With a subject like "Love to Hate", how could I choose just one target? I chose one for each of my loved ones, including myself out of guilt for raking the others over the coals.

First, THE MEN-FOLK:

I chose toilet for so many reasons. My first pet peeve is when my hubby finishes in the restroom, he drops the toilet seat down with a *SLAM*. So, so loud. I know I should thank my lucky stars that he puts the seat down at all, but does he have to slam it? Now the boy does the same thing when he uses the oval office. Nice.
The boy definitely lacks in the aim department. Really, really bad aim. (Note to self: replace mesh trash basket beside toilet in powder room.)

The boy often forgets to flush. I'll spare you the photo for this.

Second, THE GIRL:

Room cleaning is not her forte. She's a huge clutter bug. I need to help her clean so she doesn't just move stuff around, but at this point it would probably be much faster to just clean it myself! Add that she likes to play dolls in the closet, and there's pretty much nowhere sacred. This is her closet after her idea of cleaning. (The dolls you see are swinging...not by the neck, but it does look a little creepy!)

Third, THE DOGS:

I already covered rock-chasing on Day 3, so that leaves me with wet footprints today! Ugh, anyone with a pet can relate.

Finally, ME!

I think if my hubby were to choose one of his biggest pet peeves, it would be my habit of leaving stuff on the stairs. I leave things that must go up on the steps because I'm way too lazy to climb them repeatedly! I hear about this occasionally when he falls over something waaay too large for the space. Oops.

Joy of Love, Day 04: What They Wear

No outfit is complete without a hairbow.
Even if the hair is messy.
New Crocs are a must, even with crazy crocodiles on them.
A BSD Performance Company Jacket....
mandatory attire on Mondays and Wednesdays!
And of course, Bella Bottoms.
(Dubbed as such by Bella's beloved second grade teacher, Mrs. Denby)
The final collection
(If only I could figure out how to make my collages appear larger. Suggestions?)

All I want for Valentine's Day is my two front teeth!

One week later and front tooth #2 is history!

Gummy Bear!

After almost 2 months of yanking, pulling, twisting, bleeding, & crying, Bella's front tooth finally came out. It only took a brush of her tongue and out it came in the car, with her exclaiming, "Mommy, my tooth just came out of my head!" No tears, no drama. Doesn't she look like a checkerboard now?

Crazy Hair Day

Bella's school has chosen the past two years not to allow kids to wear costumes and participate in the usual Halloween traditions. This year they spend about 10 days talking up "Elect To Be Drug Free" week. Bella got really into it, wearing patriotic colors one day, dressing up in her best dress another. On the final day of this week, October 30, the task was to wear your hair crazy. As you may remember from the spring, Bella loved making her hair crazy for the walk -a-thon, so we had some colors on hand to help with the fun. Of course we couldn't stop there...Ben had to have his hair crazy too.

Halloween, a little late!

This year Bella planned to be a vampire for Halloween. After reading the book Bunnicula, she decided to change it up a little by adding bunny ears. If you don't know the story, it's a whole series about a vampire bunny who suck the juice out of vegetables. (The series was written by author James Howe.) In true Ben fashion, he had to be something similar to his sister and chose to be a vampire bat. (Use your imagination here people - I don't have time to make wings!) I've had many comments from friends who know of my love for the Twilight series and claim my children were Edward and Bella, but I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! Really!
